He further explained that if this petition for street lights within
Green Valley Estates 2nd Addition is defeated, eventually there would be a light at the
entrance.

Mr. Flemming inquired what the time line would be for the installation of priority street
lights to which Mr. Jankowski replied there is no definite time line at this point, however,
City Staff is in the process of prioritizing the street light intersections.

City Administrator Schroeder summarized the priority light process and explained that the
City is also in the process of looking for funding for such lights.

Mr. Flemming inquired if they (Green Valley Estates residents opposed to the street light
project) could not collect the amount of signatures needed to defeat this project, does the
priority light also get put in or does the City have to "find the money first".

Mr. Schroeder replied that the funding for the priority light is independent of the
subdivision lighting.

Ms. Kemp inquired why Fox Ridge, a newer subdivision, has a priority light to which Mr.
Schroeder replied that the developer of that subdivision paid for the street light.

Ms. Kemp then inquired if the residents of the Green Valley Estates 2nd Addition could
pay for their priority light.

Mr. Schroeder replied that the City does not have a mechanism to collect for that right now.

Adjournment

Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to close the
public hearing.

Motion carded.
