Case g2: Request for a Conditional Use Permit for a Home Occupation; <br /> Case of Jeffrey and Julie Lorge <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that Jeffrey and Julie Lorge of 17310 St. Francis <br />Boulevard N.W., have applied for a conditional use permit for a home occupation (one- <br />chair beauty salon operation). The Planning Commission conducted a public heating and <br />there were no verbal or written comments submitted relating to the Lorge's request. The <br />Planning Commission is recommending approval of this CUP request. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt <br />Resolution g94-05-101 adopting Findings of Fact #0361 relating to a request for a home <br />occupation permit at 17310 St. Francis Boulevard N.W. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Beyer, Hardin <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hardin inquired about the types of licenses Ms. Lorge would need to <br />acquire. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik stated that she (Lorge) needs to maintain a State license. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hardin asked that verbiage relating to the requirement of a State License be <br />added to the conditional use permit language. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to adopt <br />Resolution g94-05-102 approving the issuance of a conditional use permit, as amended, for <br />a home occupation at 17310 St. Francis Boulevard N.W. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin, Zimmerman, <br />Beyer and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #3: Request for a Conditional use Permit for a Home Occupation; <br /> Case of Diane Dempsey <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that Diane Dempsey is having her new home built at <br />14794 Krypton Court N.W. She has applied for a conditional use permit for a home <br />occupation (porcelain doll-making classes). She is presently holding such classes in her <br />home in Maple Grove. Ms. Frolik stated that Ms. Dempsey's home is the first home to be <br />developed on Krypton Court N.W; therefore, her future neighbors will not have had the <br />opportunity to comment on the request for a home occupation. Ms. Frolik recommended <br />that an interim use permit be granted to accommodate the classes for approximately one <br />year after Ms. Dempsey takes occupancy of the home. At the end of one year, the classes <br />should be relocated to an appropriate commercial location or Ms. Dempsey should request <br />changing the interim use permit to a conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to adopt <br />Resolution g94-05-103 adopting Findings of Fact #0362 relating to a request for a home <br />occupation permit at 14794 Krypton Court N.W. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
