Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Application for Peddlers/Solicitors License and Request to <br /> Waive License Fee; Case of Dance Fever, Spotlites <br /> Competition Dance Team <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that the City of Ramsey has received an application for <br />peddlers/solicitors license from Dance Fever Spotlites Competition Dance Team. This is a <br />group of seven and eight year old dancers who have earned the right to compete on the <br />national level in Rochester, Minnesota. Their intent is to raise funds to assist with <br />expenses by selling pop at 50¢ per can at Central Park, two to three nights per week during <br />the months of June and July. He stated that the City's park ordinance states that no person <br />shall offer items for sale except regularly licensed concessionaires. Mr. Goodrich stated <br />that the City does not currently have a license for a concessionary; however, a policy <br />regarding same could be drafted. He suggested that the City may require the <br />concessionaires' to have a health department permit, etc. Mr. Goodrich informed the <br />Council that the City does not have the authority to grant permission to the dance school's <br />request. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hardin inquired about RYAA selling tickets, etc in the park. <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson stated that at one time RYAA sold concessions out of the Lions <br />Club building. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich suggested the City may wa,it to adopt a policy to address a similar situation <br />before it arises. <br /> <br />City Council/June 14, 1994 <br /> Page 4 of 13 <br /> <br /> <br />
