We recently became aware that
Anoka will be constructing a 12" watermain along County Road #116, terminating at
Magnesium Street where Ramsey has a 16" main. Interconnection of these two mains
allows an additional delay in well and tower construction gained from the original
interconnection. Discussion is also taking place regarding one sewer, water, and storm
sewer district for both industrial areas in the two cities.

Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to
authorize negotiating an amendment to the Anoka Water Interconnect agreement for an
interconnecfion at County Road #116 and Magnesium Street N.W.

Motion carried. Ramsey's benefit is potentially improved electrical capacity. Our hope is the
opportunity to negotiate a benefit for utility customers in the area.

Councilmember Zimmerman stated he would not want them to run the line down into a
residential area.

Mr. Schroeder stated that discussions will take place and it will be brought back to Council
in September.
