Case #8: Report from Fire Board <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder reported that the Fire Board reviewed the process for filling <br />the position of the Fire Chief and is recommending approval to the process with the minor <br />revisions they made such as getting the Fire Department involved earlier in the process, etc. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Mayor Gilbertson to approve the <br />process for filling the position of Fire Chief and to direct Staff to proceed with such <br />process. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin, Beyer, Peterson <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder reported that the Fire Board is recommending that a term limit of two years <br />be set for the position of Assistant Fire Chief. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to approve <br />of the term limit of two years for the position of Assistant Fire Chief. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin, Peterson, Beyer <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder stated that the Fire Board reviewed the posting for the position of Fire Chief <br />and accepted same. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to <br />approve of the posting for the position of Fire Chief as presented. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin, Zimmerman, <br />Beyer and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #9: Report from Finance Committee <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart reported that the Finance Committee discussed the level of funding for <br />community education. No action is necessary. <br /> <br />Ms. Hart reported that the Finance Committee reviewed the proposed changes to the <br />Facility Use and Rental Policies (Municipal Center/Park Center) to determine if a fee <br />reduction should be implemented. Following discussion, the Committee recommended that <br />the policy be adopted basically as it was, without the fee reduction. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt the <br />Facility Use and Rental Policy as presented without the fee reduction. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Oilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Beyer and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: CouncilmemberHardin. <br /> <br />Ms. Hart explained that the Finance Committee is recommending authorizing of submission <br />of Requests for Proposals for acquisition of computer software/hardware. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to ratify the <br />Committees recommendation and authorize submission of Requests for Proposals for <br />acquisition of computer software/hardware. <br /> <br />City Council/September 27, 1994 <br /> Page 10 of 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
