Councilmember Beyer stated "I have concerns about looking nice, but I do feel if they are
proposing a nice building, it doesn't have to meet City Code 100 percent. Council should
look at giving special rights. ! have no problem with what he's proposing. We should
take care of the businesses we have. Businesses are not beating a path to our door".

Councilmember Hardin stated he would like to see a sketch plan. He suggested that Mr.
Fredericks and Mr. Clauson should meet with the City Administrator, the Building Official
and Mayor Gilbertson to see if something could be worked out.

Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to direct
Staff to meet with the applicants and the Building Official and try to resolve some
alternatives. Bring the recommendations back to City Council, if needed, and a special
meeting will be scheduled for this discussion.

Motion carded. Voting Yes: Councilmember Peterson, Hardin and Zimmerman. Voting
No: Councilmember Beyer.
