Absent: Councilmembers Beyer and Peterson. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #I: Presentation by Investigator Jim Way, Ramsey Police <br /> Department <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder informed Council that Investigator Jim Way had a previous <br />commitment, therefore, Police Chief Auspos will be giving the presentation. <br /> <br />Police Chief Auspos stated that Anoka County was awarded a $50,000 grant from the State <br />of Minnesota to participate in a Safe and Sober program. This program is aimed at <br />reducing alcohol related fatalities and to increase the use of seatbelts. He stated that extra <br />shifts will be added which will be paid for by the grant with the exception of in-kind work <br />(clerical, financial, etc.) Chief Auspos explained that the Department needs to have five or <br />more people specially trained on calls in a standardized sobriety test. He extended an <br />invitation to anyone interested in seeing how the program is going. He added that there <br />will be a request for volunteers to get their alcohol blood level up - rides will be provided. <br />He also extended an invitation to the session to see what's being done with the grant <br />money. <br /> <br />Case #lA: National Home Care Week; Presentation by Metro Home <br /> Health Care <br /> <br />Sharon Ringwalski, representing Metro Home Health Care, presented Council with a <br />synopsis of what home health care is all about. She also extended an invitation to Metro <br />Home Health Care's open house scheduled for December 1, 1994. She asked that Council <br />adopt a resolution proclaiming the week of November 27 through December 3, 1994 as <br />National Home Care Week, 1994. <br /> <br />Mayor Csilbertson read the proclamation resolution. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Mayor Gilbertson to adopt Resolution <br />g94-11-257 proclaiming the week of November 27 through December 3, 1994 as National <br />Home Care Week, 1994. <br /> <br />Motion carded.
