Case 09: Introduce Proposed Ordinance Vacating Drainage & Utility <br /> Easements Along the Borders of Lot 2, Block 2, and Outlot c, <br /> of Rum River Hills Addition <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that the developer of the Rum River Hills Town <br />Homes has requested that the City vacate the drainage and utility easements that were <br />dedicated at the time the subdivision was completed. The developer intends to rededicate <br />new easements at the time that the replatting is completed. <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson adjourned the regular portion of the City Council meeting at 7:13 p.m. in <br />order to conduct the public hearing. <br /> <br />Public Hearin~ <br /> <br />Mayor Csilbertson called the public hearing to order at 7:13 p.m. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />Cheryle Ralph, 16911 Helium Street N.W., Ramsey, stated she has been wondering about <br />the town houses. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that Case #8 on tonight's agenda is related to the town <br />houses. It's a proposal for preliminary plat. If it is approved, the developer will ask for <br />final plat approval. If approval occurs, there are some existing utility easements which will <br />not work so we will be gaining different easements. Prior to approving the plan, we have <br />to have new easements. <br /> <br />Ms. Ralph stated that she lives across from the proposed town houses and she wasn't sure <br />she wanted town houses constructed in the area. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder stated that these town houses were actually proposed several years ago. <br /> <br />Ms. Ralph stated she was not aware of that. She expressed her concern about it and added <br />that she moved to Ramsey from Brooklyn Park to get away from that type of development. <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson stated that, chances are, the town homes will be approved. <br /> <br />Ms. Ralph inquired if the town homes would be in a particular price range. <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson stated he did not know but he was fairly certain the prices would be <br />consistent with the area. <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that Case #8 is the preliminary plat case for the town <br />homes. She suggested Ms. Ralph may wish to stay and that she could direct some <br />questions to the developer. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to close the <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson Hardin, Beyer <br />and Zimmerman.
