Absent: Commissioner Thom& <br /> <br />Case #3: <br /> <br />Discussion Regarding Proposed Ordinance to Move Structures into <br />and Within the City of Ramsey <br /> <br />Zoning Adminis~ator Frolik stated an ordinance to establish procedures for moving structures into <br />and within ~e City of Ramsey was forwarded by the Commission to City Council for adoption. <br />The ordinanc~ basically established that City Staff would have authority to approve structures to be <br />moved into or within the City, and in the case of homes, a $3,000 financial guarantee would be <br />required to ¢Osurc proper completion of the project. She stated that the Council is concerned that <br />homes being ~noVed in are compatible with existing homes in the neighborhood, and that Council <br />requested colasideration be given to prohibiting the moving of structures into the City's Urban <br />district. Sh* stated that if the Commission was in agreement with Council, then City Staff is <br />seeking dire. orion to research architectural standards and composition of an architectural review <br />committee. <br /> <br />Commissiongr Texry suggested not allowing accessory structures or buildings to be moved into the <br />City. ~ <br /> <br />Commissione!? Deemer suggested limiting the size of the structures. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik sgated a survey showed that several sun'ounding communities allow this, and she <br />inquired whe~er absolutely prohibiting the moving in of structures would be discriminative. <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden stated he has seen homes that have been moved in that are better than the <br />other homes in the area, but at the same time he feels that new construction can do the some thing. <br /> <br />Motion by .,Commissioner Terry and seconded by Commissioner Deemer directing City Staff to <br />draft an ordinance that would ban moving principal or accessory structures into the City that are <br />larger than 280 sq. ft. or the maximum square footage for which the Uniform Building Code <br />allows constn0cfion of without footings, whichever figure is smaller. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Terry, Deemer, Hendriksen, <br />Holland, and LaI)ue. Voting No: None. Absent: CommissionerThomd. <br /> <br />Case #4: Zoning Bulletin and Zoning News <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Planning and Zoning Commission that Zoning Administrator Frolik <br />should contint~e furnishing them with copies of zoning periodicals in their monthly agenda. <br /> <br />Case #5: Monthly Status Report <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer inquired whether Winslow Holasek withdrew the proposed plat of <br />Mississippi I-reights, and Ms. Frolik replied that he did not. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carrie, gl.
