Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #10: Update on Land Use Planning Needs <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder reported that proposals are being requested for the land use <br />planning study and they will be brought to the Finance Committee for review. <br /> <br />Case #11: County Road #116 .Alternative Transportation Corridor <br /> <br />Parks/utilities Coordinator Boos explained the importance and benefits of the County Road <br />#116 Alternative Transportation Corridor. He described what and where the proposed <br />corridor is and what the improvements would be. He stated a proposal was developed <br />asking for funding, and the funding has been granted. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Mayor Gflbertson to recommend City <br />Council:accept the grant funds fOr the County Road #116 Alternative Transportation <br />Corridor. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin, Beyer, Peterson <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #12: City Entrance Signage <br /> <br />City.Administrator Schroeder stated that at a recent meeting, Council was informed of a <br />proposal Which could result in the installation of a quality entrance sign for eastbound <br />traffic at the intersection of 153rd Avenue N.W. and T.H. Highway #10. The proposal is <br />for a joint venture between Glenn Rhebein Inc., The Northfork Links and the City of <br />Ramsey, resulting in a "Welcome to Ramsey" sign for eastbound traffic and an <br />identification sign for The Northfork Links for westbound waffle. <br /> <br />Mr. Dennis Peck, North Fork, Inc., was present and displayed drawings of the proposed <br />sign. He quoted the different costs depending upon the types of materials used. <br /> <br />Councilm~mber Bcyer expressed concern about the City's liability with regard to the sign <br />and felt the City Attorney should review the issue. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Oilbertson and seconded by Councilmember Pcterson to recommend <br />Council ~nter into an agreement with The Nortlffork Links and Glenn Rhebein, Inc.with <br />regard to the entrance sign at a not-to-exceed cost to the City of $3,000. A committee <br />which will include Mayor Gilbertson and Councilmember Peterson will meet with Mr. <br />Peck regarding the aesthetics of the sign and the City Attorney will be contacted to review <br />the issue Of the City's liability. <br /> <br />Further diSCussion: Councilmember Zimmerman stated that all four comers of the City <br />need entrance signs. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Beyer and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None.
