Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #8: Approve Purchase of Player Benches and Review Park and <br /> Recreation Maintenance Expenditure Policy <br /> <br />Case #9: Authorize Spring Riders for Woodland Green Park <br /> <br />Case #8 and #9 were discussed together. <br /> <br />City A_dministrator Schroeder handed out a proposed resolution dealing with the <br />expenditures of charitable gambling. He suggested that if someone wants something done <br />in a park, they can call the City and their request will be put on a list. ff someone wants to <br />donate money, it will be written down. In the spring of the year, the Park and Recreation <br />Commission will review the list of requests and rank them. They will make a <br />recommendation to the Finance Committee and the Committee will make the decision of <br />what improvements should be done using gambling dollars. If someone offers a donation <br />and asks .the' City to match it, this also will go on the list. The resolution listed <br />expenditures up to $1,000, as anything larger than that would need prior City Council <br />approval.~ <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman felt that people would be more apt to donate dollars if they are <br />aware of this list of requests. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Coordinator Boos felt this is a good program, He mentioned that the Park <br />and R~rea~ tion Commission has recommended that City Council approve the purchase of <br />two spring riders for Woodland Green Park with money to come from the charitable <br />gambling funds. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Mayor Gilbertson to recommend <br />Council approve the purchase of the two spring riders for Woodland Green Park at a total <br />cost not-to-ex~ $600. The funding will come from charitable gambling receipts. <br /> <br />Motion c~ied. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin, Beyer, Peterson <br />and Zimmennan.
