I <br />I ~ gear is n~eded (two for new Fire Fighters and two gear replacements). Assistant Fire Chief <br /> Kapler informed Council that the Deparunent repairs what gear they can. Chief Griffin <br /> stated tlt~t about nine of their pagers have "gone bad". The vaccinations requested would <br />I be for the <br /> new <br /> people. <br /> <br /> DiscusSion ensued with regard to the Fire Fighter Relief Association. Councilmember <br /> Beyer stated she would like to see the City levy for the Association. City Administrator <br /> Schroeder stated that he thinks when the Fire Department was created, it was stated that the <br /> City would not be contributing to an Association. He stated he would review past minutes <br />i for that information. <br /> With regard to buildings and structures, Chief CnSffin stated the existing garage floor needs <br /> some repair. Regarding the tanker, Chief Griffin stated he has plans and pictures and that <br />I they have received eight bids. <br /> ~r2240 - Building Inspections - City Administrator Schroeder stated that the initial change <br />I for this department is going from 1.5 employees in 1993 to 2.0 in 1994. <br /> #2250--Civil Defense - Police Chief Auspos stated there has been some battery <br />i replacement. The insurance remains about the same, the number for utilities is constant, <br /> and the maintenance contract amount decreased somewhat <br /> <br /> #2260 - Traffic Engineering - Public Works Supervisor Mevissen explained that the $5,000 <br />I shown for other services is for street striping which was charged to #3301 in past years. <br /> Everything else is about the same as the previous year. <br /> <br />lO #2270 - Animal Control - Police Chief Auspos stated he based the figures for 1994 on the <br /> 1992 actual numbers. <br /> <br /> #2280 - D.A.R.E. - Police Chief Auspos stated there will be a more detailed report for <br />I D.A.R.Ig. in !994 and that will be done with the D.A.R.E. <br /> more <br /> tracking <br /> regard <br /> to <br /> Officer's time. He added he would like to have pm-time hours for the <br /> summer again plus have enough hours to allow for someone to come in a couple times a <br /> week in the winter to help out with projects, updates, etc. He explained there is not a <br />I significant-change with regard to supplies. The large increase in professional services is <br /> due largely to the topographical maps. Mr. Jankowski also summarized the training <br /> requests. <br /> <br />I #3311 - Street Maintenance - Public Works Supervisor Mevissen explained that the cost for <br /> snow and ice removal is estimated to be about the same.
