At this
meeting, a business advisory committee was formed and members of that committee were present
at this meeting to discuss some of the issues and ideas from their meeting.

Diane Halter, GCI, Chairperson of the Business Advisory stated that the Business Advisory
Committee (BAC) wants to work together with the City to solve the problems in the industrial area.
Aesthetics seem to be one of major problems in this area.

Consensus was that the process for this committee and the EDC would be as follows: 1) That the
BAC would meet and develop some recommendations for presentation to the EDC; and 2) The
final recommendations for solutions to any problems would then be presented to Ramsey City
Council.

Ms. Halter indicated that they had met on January 13, 1993 and developed a possible solution to
some current problems in the industrial area. They recommended that a City Staff member and a
BAC member would develop a list of all properties and its deficiencies. This would include an on-
site inspection by both the City Staff person and BAC member. The BAC would then meet with
the property and/or business owner to develop a solution to the existing violations.

Darryl Fults indicated that the EDC cannot change the City Code but can make recommendations to
City Council .to make changes.

Chairman Wagner also indicated to the BAC that although they cannot be voting members of the
EDC, they can be adhoc Commission members that provide input.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Commissioner Schroeder and seconded by Commissioner Gorecki to adjourn the
meeting.

Motion carried.
