Chief Griffin stated he would include it again on the next agenda as Mayor Gilbertson was <br />unable to be present tonight and he may have questions or comments also. <br /> <br />Case 02: Reintroduction of the Five-Year Training Plan to the New <br /> Members of the Fire Board <br /> <br />Fire Chief Griffin stated that this plan is also in the agenda to introduce to the new members <br />of the Fire Board. He summarized the training classes listed. <br /> <br />Case #3: Current Status of the New Tanker Search/Purchase <br /> <br />Fire Chief Griffin stated there have been significant dollars allocated for a new tanker and <br />the Deparmaent has a committee working on specifications for such tanker. He stated the <br />Fire Board will be updated on this issue at their next meeting. <br /> <br />Case #4: Fire Board Position Terms <br /> <br />Fire Chief Griffin stated that the Fire Department members on the Fire Board have a three- <br />year term but the citizen representative on the Fire Board has to be appointed each year. <br /> <br />Boardmember Sharp felt that it was unnecessary to change the citizen representative every <br />year. <br /> <br />Boardmember Pearson stated he would like the Fire Department to be able to choose their <br />own way of determining representation on the Fire Board. <br /> <br />Councilmcmber Beyer felt that the Fire Department should be able to determine the terms <br />for the Fire Board however they want to. <br /> <br />Motion by Boardmember Sharp and seconded by Boardmember Simpson to recommend <br />that City Council extend A1 Pearson's term on the Fire Board for one more year. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmember Beyer, Boardmembers Sharp, Simpson, <br />Pearson and Williams. Voting No: None. Absent: Mayor Gilbertson. <br /> <br />Case #$: Schedule Fire Board Meetings <br /> <br />Fire Chief Griffin stated that the Fire Board is planning to meet quarterly in 1993 on the <br />third Monday of the month. The dates would be as follows: March 15, June 21, <br />September 20 and December 20. The time scheduled is 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Boardmember Simpson to approve the <br />scheduled dates but to change the time to 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Councilmember Beyer, Boardmembers Simpson, Pearson, <br />Simpson and Williams. Voting No: None. Absent: Mayor Gilbertson. <br /> <br />BOARD INPUT <br /> <br />1) Tanker Revisited <br /> <br />The Board discussed the pros and cons of a used tanker versus a new tanker.
