GREEN TREE COMMITTEE <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />The Ramsey Green Tree Committee conducted a regular meeting at 7 PM on Wednesday, <br />September 8, 1993 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> <br />Merrilyn Steiner <br />Dana Henry <br />Beth Mitchell <br />Weary Graves <br />Carol Khayott <br />Paul Couture <br />Err Harves <br />Bruce Bacon <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Ramsey Resident Contributions. <br /> <br />Merrilyn Steiner provided a draft of "Tree Facts" that can be included in parts for Ramsey <br />Resident. VOlunteers were asked for regular Resident contributions. Paul volunteered for <br />October, Dana or Beth for November. <br /> <br />Case 02: Yard Tree Tour. <br /> <br />Yard Tree Tour date was set for 10 AM to 2 PM, Saturday, October 2 to four sites: W. Anderson <br />at 10 AM, Henk¢ at 11 AM, B. Wurm at 12 noon, and Litke at 1 PM. We will meet at the <br />Ramsey Plaza bank parking lot and carpool. Bruce will hand in a notice/invitation for Ramsey <br />Resident. <br /> <br />Case #3: Ramsey Plaza. <br /> <br />Dana contact0d most of the businesses to inquire about their interest in trees for spring planting. <br />Her notes detailed contacts and responses. Mr. Mueller suggested a November 10 concept <br />meeting. Paul Couture volunteered to review the site and suggest planting opportunities for the <br />October meet :~g. Pannerships, matching funding are essential. Arbor month plantings may have <br />a grant cycle in October or November. Charitable Gambling revenue may be a local matching <br />source. The :City council finance committee agreed to the reservation of Expo volunteer project <br />income for tree planting "seed" money. <br /> <br />Case 04: Tree Trust and PTA. <br /> <br />Beth contacted Tree Trust, and they have a project for schools with curriculum and hands on <br />component. Weady Graves from PTA Environmental Committee thinks the "Green Team" <br />approach can make a good coalition for an Earth Day/Arbor Month Project. A PTA person will <br />rotate attendance at the Tree Committee meetings.
