Case #5: Environmental Issues. <br /> <br />Margaret Connolly is involved for an environmental component. National mosquito control by <br />birds, amphibians, bats, predatory insects and wetland management is an opportunity with timely <br />concerns. <br /> <br />Case #6: Urban Forest Conference <br /> <br />VI Urban Forest Conference is September 14-17. <br /> <br />Case g7: Department of Transportation. <br /> <br />DOT entry way planning grant is another possibility. This works best involving coalition of <br />volunteers in partnership with city and DOT. More ground work and information is needed to plan <br />such an initiative. <br /> <br />Case g8: Elm Institute. <br /> <br />The Elm Institute grows and distributes Native American elms resistant to Dutch Elm Disease. <br />This specios is decimated locally with no favorable outlook for short term recovery.
