Absent: Commissioner Swokowski. <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br />Henn and Johns. <br /> <br />NOTE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Hetland and seconded by Commissioner Cook to delay <br />approval of Planning and Zoning Commission public hearing and regular meeting minutes dated <br />September 7, 1993, M41, until the next regular Park and Recreation meeting, to facilitate the cases. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Hetland, Commissioners Cook, Florentius, Gookin, <br />Henn and $ohhs. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Swokowski. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Case #1: REVIEW STATUS OF THE LAKE ITASCA TRAIL DEVELOPMENT <br /> <br />Dave and Dawn Perry, 8880 167th Lane N.W., and Dave and Nancy Webster, residents of <br />Hunters Ridg~ and Northfork subdivisions respectively, were present to discuss in detail the Lake <br />Itasca trail leading north from Northfork to Hunter's Ridge. Resident concerns included possible <br />vandalism, .upk. eep of the trail, and impact on land valuation. Mr, Boos stated that the passive park <br />areas have had no incidents of vandalism compared to active areas, possibly due in part to the <br />character of individuals utilizing these areas. He indicated that the City would be responsible for <br />the upkeep ofrthe trail, adding that the trail might conceivably been maintained year round at some <br />point in the future. Mr. Schroeder does not have direct data, positive or negative, on the impact of <br />the trails regarding the valuation of homes. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos .agreed. to meet with the residents of Hunter's Ridge to further explain the proposed <br />plans. He indicated that the trail delineation would be determined this winter after the swamp and <br />wetland area~, are accessible by foot. The residents would have a chance to again voice their <br />opinions prio~ to determining the exact route. <br /> <br />Case ~g2: DETERMINE PARK DEDICATION FOR SUNFISH SQUARE <br /> <br />Mr. Boos presented the facts related to Sunfish Square and reviewed the Commission's consensus <br />related to park dedication issues at June's sketch plan review. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission's <br />October 5, 1993 meeting regarding how it ties in with the plan for an alternative transportation <br />corridor.
