Planning and Zoning Commission public hearing and regular meeting M61 <br /> minutes dated September 7, 1993. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />APPROVE PARK PLAN AND TIMELINE FOR THE NEIGHBOR- <br />HOOD PARK IN THE RIVENWICK SUBDIVISION <br /> <br />Park/Utilities Coordinator Boos reviewed the improvements completed thus far to the 2.8 acre park <br />and explaineX[ the Park Trust and the Tax Increment Financing funds that may be available upon <br />Council approval for the Rivenwick subdivision for 1993-1994. <br /> <br />The Commission reviewed the park plan and agreed that the layout was the best possible <br />considering tile configuration of the park. Mr. Hetland suggested that the tennis court should be <br />expandable - laying one court at a time. It was also decided that the drinking fountain would be a <br />future project. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Swokowski and seconded by Commissioner Cook to approve the park <br />plan and timeline for the neighborhood park in the Rivenwick subdivision and naming the park <br />Riverdale. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Hetland, Commissioners Cook, Johns and Swokowski. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Florentius, Gookin and Henn. <br /> <br />Case 82: <br /> <br />STATUS OF THE RECREATIONAL SITE ASSOCIATED WITH THE <br />ANOKA REGIONAL LANDFILL <br /> <br />The Commission reviewed the site and park plan and after discussion agreed with the elements of <br />the park plan. A lengthy discussion ensued regarding the availability of "regulation" size soccer <br />fields. The consensus of the Commission was that soccer fields should supplant softball and <br />baseball fields to the extent of need within Ramsey. In a related matter, Mr. Boos and Mr. Hefland <br />agreed to meet prior to the next meeting to determine whether the field at Central Park meets the <br />requirements of the soccer league. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/November 4, 1993 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
