y , , RESIDENT'S SUGGESTIONS
ON ROAD NAMES REQUESTED
11
At an April 1, 1993, mooting of the Road and Bridge Committee, one topic of discussion
was how to alleviate confusion associatod with the namos of two collector streots serving
the City. Sunfish Lake Drive N.W. is a now east/west collector street which will eventually
run from T.H. #47, south of 149th Avenue N.W. to County Road #116 near the Altron
Company. Portions of this new street have boon conslructod in tho new Wood Pond Hilts
and Sunny Ponds subdivisions located south of City Hall along County Road #5. Obviously
tho name Sunfish Lake Drive N.W, is very similar to Sunfish Lake Boulevard N.W. (C.R.
#57) which is also a major thoroughfare in the City. (See bold linos on the map below to
show the stroots for renaming.)
A socond thoroughfare considerod for renaming is 153rd/155th Avenuos. Bocauso of the
importance of this roadway, it would bo less confusing for it to have a single descriptive name.
Tho Road and Bridge Committoo felt it would be worthwhile to obtain citizen input in
considoring appropriate namos for those two roadways. Possible namos could be rotated to
Ramsey's historic past, or to geographic or man-made features.
If you have a suggestion, please stop by, call us at 427-1410 or return the form below to
Ramsey Municipal Building, 15153 Nowthon Blvd N.W. Ramsey, MN 55303 by 5 p.m.
Friday, Juno 25, 1993. Tho Road and Bridge Commitloo will bo roviowing theso
suggostions and making a recommendation to tho City Council in July.
If now road names are soloctod, the City will need to hold a public hoaring and pass an
ordinanco dosignating the chango. Properties affoctod by an address change will be
notified by Iottor.
