Voting Yes: Chairpckson Cook, and Councilmembers Kurak, and Pearson. <br />Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Couneilmember Kurak, seconded by C0uncilmember Pearson, to recommend that the <br />City Council promote Brian Olson to the position of Assistant Public Works Director. <br /> <br />Motion carried. -Voting Yes: Chairperson Cook, and Councilmembers Kurak, and Pearson. <br />Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #3: Authorization to Hire Associate Planner' <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Reed stated that at its May 13, 2003 meeting, the City Council <br />authorized staff to begin the recruitment process for an Associate Planner. The position was <br />posted internally and the Community Development. Department .Intern, Amy Geisler, submitted <br />an application for the position. An interview was conducted by the Community Development <br />Director, Principal Planner, and the Human Resources Manager. Based on the results of the <br />interview, staff is recommending that Amy Geisler be hired to fill the Associate Planner position <br />at $42,740 annually, contingent upon satisfactory background and reference checks, an <br />employment physical and a drug and alcohol screen. Ms. Geisler will be subject to a six-month <br />probationary period. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired if they will be filling the Intern position. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied no. <br /> <br />Motion by Council_member Kurak,' seconded by Councilmember Pearson, to recommend that the <br />City Council authorize the hiring of Amy Geisler as an Associate Planner with an annual salary <br />of $42,740, contingent upon satisfactory background and reference checks, an employment <br />physical and a drug and alcohol screen. Ali other personnel policies will apply normally. Ms. <br />Geisler would begin employment on or near June 25, 2003 and would be subject to a six-month <br />probationary period.. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
