He stated his neighborhood was developed before
Dellw0od Hills and then another development tying in from the south came in and City
Council asked us if that was acceptable. We said yes but now this public hearing is taking
place anyway. City Council was forced into making the decision of having a big cul-de-
sac. Now you're having two cul-de-sacs here. He stated what Council is discussing "goes
against him". You're saying extend cul-de-sac, keep 171st open, then you have an
opportunity to correct it and now you saying the heck with us for the next 20 years. He felt
that Council was not satisfying his concerns at all. He asked why 171st should be kept
open.

Mr. Anderley stated that the School District came to the City Council years ago and stated
they did not want school busses on Highway #63 so the City made the agreement with the
developer that if he split the lot and donated the easement, he could have two homes there.

Mr. Dusbabek stated he is concerned with a half mile cul-de-sac. A cul-de-sac should be
around one quarter mile. He stated he is concerned with the traffic driving through his
neighborhood. He added that in 20 years, maybe Anderley and Hillebregt will sell their
property, then the people from Trott Brook will come to Council and say "we've been here
for 20 years and it's always been a cul-de-sac. This problem is not being corrected
properly.

Councilmember Zimmerman stated that the idea to keep 171 st open came from Staff, not
from the City Council.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Mayor Gilbertson and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to close the public
hearing.

Motion carried.
