Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #8: <br /> <br />Adopt Ordinance to Repeal the Rural Business District and <br />Rezone Rural Business Properties to B-1 Business <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that recent amendments to the B-1 Business District <br />included merging the Rural Business District into it. As a follow-up, Rural Business <br />properties need to be rezoned to B-1 Business and the term Rural Business has to be <br />eliminated from City Code. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to adopt <br />Ordinance g93-06 to rezone Rural Business properties to B-1 Business and to eliminate the <br />definition of Rural Business and the Rural Business District from City Code and City <br />Zoning Map. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Hardin, Beyer <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case gg: Request for Authorization to Apply for Grant Funds for <br /> Updating the Shoreland Management Ordinance <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that on July 3, 1989, the revised Statewide Standards <br />for "Management of Shoreland Areas" rules became effective. Under the authority of those <br />new rules, the City of Ramsey has until September 1, 1994 to update its ordinance <br />accordingly. She explained the Legislature has provided a matching grant program to assist <br />local unit, of government in updating their ordinances and Ms. Frolik requested approval to <br />apply for State grant monies to update the City's shoreland management ordinance. <br /> <br />Motion bY Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to adopt <br />Resolution g93-03-045 authorizing the Mayor and the City Administrator to make <br />application and to enter into an agreement with the State of Minnesota for grant assistance <br />for the purpose of updating the Shoreland Management Ordinance. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Hardin, Beyer <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #10: Report from Finance Committee <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that the Finance Committee met earlier and four of the <br />items they discussed will come back to Council in the form of a resolution for adoption. <br />Those items are the replacement of two squads for the Police Department, request to <br />purchase a truck and equipment for the Public Works Department, purchase of a typewriter <br />for the Police Department and funding for the Tree Sale and Environmental Expo. Another <br />issue discussed was the shoreland management ordinance which Council just enacted <br />upon. He requested Council's ratification of the following: authorize Hadtrath and <br />Associates to be the Insurance Agent of Record for the City of Ramsey and continue the <br />existing use of the City Engineer's vehicle. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Mayor Gilbertson to authorize <br />Hadtrath and Associates to be the City's Insurance Agent of Record. <br /> <br />City Council/March 23, 1993 <br /> Page 7 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
