Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #15: Approve Recommendation to Fill the Two Vacancies on the <br /> Charter Commission <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson stated that Council had interviewed three applicants for the two <br />vacancies on the Charter Commission. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to <br />recommen~t Keith Kiefer to fill one of the Charter vacancies. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />MAYOR-AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />1) Charter Commission Request <br /> <br />City Admt,uistmtor Schroeder stated that the Charter Commission is meeting on Thursday, <br />Septemb~ 16, 1993. One of their items for discussion is the electoral process and they <br />have requeSted input from Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson offered to attend the meeting. <br /> <br />2) School District Funding <br /> <br />Councilmembm' Zimmerman stated that the Supreme Court ruled against the northern areas <br />for school ~listrict funding. He stated "it behooves us to get some economic development <br />into the Cigt. We need businesses to balance this out". <br /> <br />3) Contract Negotiations <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder informed Council that AFSCME would like to meet on <br />Novemberi 10 and November 18, 1993.
