They have an even balance of folks who are in favor of expanding the <br />transportation system and those opposed to it. He reported that he and City Engineer <br />Jankowski were at the meeting and presented Ramsey's view on the transportation <br />expansion. He felt it went well and that he received a couple of calls from Dayton citizens <br />who expressed the same feeling. Dayton will continue the process. <br /> <br />5) UPdate on Adult Bookstore <br /> <br />C~ty AttOrney Ooodrich stated that the Federal District Court case is still pending. <br /> <br />6) Update on Charter Commission Meeting <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that the Charter Commission discussed going to a <br />ward sys~m Versus an at large system for Council. The next Ramsey Resident will have a <br />request fo~_ citizens to provide input regarding their feelings on this issue. Mr. Schroeder <br />stated the Charter Commission will be continuing this discussion <br /> <br />Councilmember Petcrson added that the Charter Commission also discussed primary <br />elections. <br /> <br />Councilm~ mber Zimmerman felt that the present Councilmembers are pretty well spread out <br />around the~ entire City right now and he felt that if the City was divided, the residents <br />closest to Elk River may not vote. <br /> <br />Counciln~,e, mber Beyer agreed that this would make these residents feel more separated <br />from the rest. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adjourn the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin, Beyer, Peterson <br />and Zinmaennan.
