Councilmember Peterson agreed it is a worthwhile project. Counciknember Hardin stated he does not want to commit the $30,000 to the paving at this time and auggested the Finance Committee discuss what the money should be allocated for. Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to authorize the pavih~ of Central Park trail with the $9,090 from CDBG funds. The allocation of the $30,00Othe City will receive in February will be referred to the Finance Committee. Motion Carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin and Peterson. Voting NO: None. Absent: Councilmembers Beyer and Zimmerman. Case #11: Report from Personnel Committee City Administrator Schroeder reported on the items discussed at the Personnel Committee meeting held earlier this evening. Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to direct Staff to file a petition with the Bureau of Mediation Services to determine the Union status of the Parks/Utilities Coordinator position. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin and Peterson. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Beyer and Zimmerman. Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Mayor Gilbertson to leave the budget as is and d0wnsize the Engineering Department. Motion ¢ ~arried. Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to direct a proactive business retention/attraction program with regard to the Economic Development Authority and to allocate money for a portion of the Project Manager's time plus City Administrator, Finance Officer and Support Staff time relating to the EDA. Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin and Peterson. Voting Noi None. Absent: Councilmembers Beyer and Zimmerman. Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Peterson that the budget be approved as presented which results in reduction of hours for the Environmental Specialist from the Landfill Tipping Fee Fund. Motion by rCouncilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to authorize the expendi~ ture of $350 to contract with Twin City Testing for data logger testing and an initial site 9isit to test the air quality of the Public Works facility.
