COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Case //1: Presentation by Anoka County Sheriff Kenneth Wilkinson <br /> <br />Anoka County Sheriff Kenneth Wilkinson presented his yearly update to Council on the <br />operatioris!of the Sheriff's Department and the services they provide to our community. He <br />recited ci'ime statistics as they pertain to the City of Ramsey and spoke highly of the way <br />Ramsey'S Police Department works with the Anoka County Sheriff's Department. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />National Home Care Week Presentation by Metro Home Health <br />Care <br /> <br />Sharon ?d'ngwalski, 16442 Jaspar Street N.W., Ramsey, representing Metro Home Health <br />Care was ~at the meeting to present information pertaining to home health care. She <br />requested Council honor the home health care industry by adopting a resolution <br />proclaiming Home Care Week. <br /> <br />Motion bY;Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to adopt <br />Resoluti0n. g93-11-276 proclaiming the week of November 28 through December 4, 1993, <br />as Home Care Week 1993. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Beyer, Zimmerman and <br />Hardin. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPeterson. <br /> <br />Case #3: Adopt Ordinance to Sell Lot 3, Block 5, Beaudry's Second <br /> Addition <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that on November 9, 1993, Council introduced an <br />ordinanc* authorizing the sale of Lot 3, Block 5, Beaudry's 2nd Addition to Anoka County <br />Community Action Program. The ordinance is now being presented for formal adoption. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated he still had some reservations about whether or not this <br />lot is buildable. He felt that part of the low area extends on the frontage of the lot. <br /> <br />Mayor Gi!bertson inquired if the City Engineer had looked at this lot. <br /> <br />City Engineer Sankowski replied that the Engineering Technician had looked at the property <br />and that C0uncilmember Zimmerman's concerns would be addressed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman asked that this lot be checked out by someone who could <br />certify it i, buildable. <br /> <br />Motion bY Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to direct <br />Staff to hire someone to make sure this lot is buildable. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Mayor Gilbertson felt that this was unnecessary and a waste of the <br />taxpayers money. Mr. Schroeder stated Staff could have a qualified perk test performed. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beyer and Hardin. Voting <br />No: May6rGilbertson.
