He stated he is looking for City <br />Council tO approve this document which would provide Staff with Council's relative <br />agreement. This document is not providing authorization to proceed on any projects. <br /> <br />Councilme~ tuber Zimmerman felt that it was a good document but cautioned that there <br />would be some negatives to it if there are not the dollars to do something listed in the <br />document, <br /> <br />Mr. Sc ~hroexler stated that priorities change and that is stated in the document. <br /> <br />Mayor Oilbertson felt that it was a really good document. <br />Mr. SchrOeder felt that the projects listed are "do-able". <br /> <br />Councilmember Hardin felt that it was a good document; however, he felt that council <br />should go through it and prioritize projects. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding tax increases for funding and bonds, etc. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt <br />Resolution g93-11-277 approving, as a guide, the 1994 - 2000 Capital Improvements <br />Program. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beyer and <br />Hardin. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPeterson. <br /> <br />Case #5: Approval of 1994 Work Plan <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder presented the 1994 work plan and summarized its contents. <br /> <br />Motion bY Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to approve <br />the 1994 work plan. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Hardin stated he would like to see a plan to utilize the <br />old school house and that efforts be continued toward establishing a zip code/post office for <br />the City.:: Councilmember Beyer felt there were more important things to look at other than <br />funding that old school building and getting a zip code. Councilmember Hardin stated he <br />did not suggest expending any money, he just requested that these two items be placed <br />back into the work plan. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Beyer, Zimmerman and <br />Hardin. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPeterson. <br /> <br />Case //6: Report From Finance Committee <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart stated that the Finance Committee discussed the request from the <br />Anoka .A, rea Ice Arena Association to receive a variance from the legally required <br />contribuaons to the City of Ramsey from lawful gambling net profits. The Committee felt <br />it shouldtlot grant the variance because of other charitable gambling organizations in the <br />City. Instead, they suggested Mr. Lichter appear before the Park and Recreation <br />Commission and request money when they allocate the gambling profits for parks and <br /> <br />City Council/November 23, 1993 <br /> Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
