Parks/Utilities S~pervisor Boos stated he did not think so.

Commissioner l~olfe noted there was still a possibility that the subdivision would not continue
unless they clan i~on out the situation with the secondary access.
Parks/Utilities SJ)pervisor Boos commented the alternative would be to go across the street and
connect to N,htria Street.
Chairperson ~otms noted they are not considering land but park dedication and a trail.
Commissioner R~lfe explained Autumn Heights Park's play equipment could use upgrading.
Parks/Utilities S~pervisor Boos agreed.

Chairperson Jolts inquired what was at the park currently.
[ ·
Parks/Utilitie4s Stipervisor Boos described what was at the park. He explained that one way to
handle this clase Would be to make a park dedication recommendation that addresses either the
[ .
trail routing ~tfi no park land dedication and half of the park dedication fee be allocated to
improvement~ itl the park if no substantial changes in the plat or provide general
recommendation ~o he could relay that to the developer or they could pass.

Commission4r Rblfe explained he would like to see part of the proceeds from the development
go into Auturhn Park and also develop a trail system but he did not know if they should stick to
Armstrong B~uldvard or cut down Tiger also.

Commissiond~r S[~ryock indicated her only concern was to try to take land for it. She noted there
was not a lot Of space left to develop a trail so they would either need to ask homeowners for trail
dedications of on'the-road and off-the-road trails. If so, in the future she would prefer to keep it
within the ro~ right of way.
Discussion e~ued as to where the trail should be directed.

Parks/Utilitie., SUpervisor Boos advised that they should go beyond the park limits and go past
the lots on the east side of 83 and connect to 167th Avenue which is an intersection. A trail credit
would be giV{~n for the construction of those area and they would probably use the road right-of-
~ rd ~ ~,
way near the igter~ection of Tiger Street and 83 Avenue to T the trail into Tiger Street.

Commissionei Rcflfe asked if they had enough fight-of-way along Armstrong as they get south of

the park

Parks/Utilities
profile would

Supervisor Boos stated there is a lot of fight-of-way but he did know if the ditch
:au~e them any problems but he did not think it would drop off.

Park and Recreation Commission/April 10, 2003
Page 3 of 8
