She stated Staff is recommending that the area <br />encompass, b~ Lots 1 and 2 be subdivided into two lots with a north/south boundary line as <br />opposed to th~ east/west boundary line shown on the preliminary plat. Providing for a <br />north/south !ou~adary line would allow the property to gain access to 170th Avenue in the event <br />the house ~ ~s raised or damaged beyond 50% of it value, thereby eliminating an access onto <br />County Road 83i. She advised Staff is recommending preliminary plat approval contingent upon <br />compliance ith~City Staff Review Letter dated May 30, 2003. <br /> <br />Chairperson Ni~ opened the public hearing at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Kelly Thom~, 8433 168th Lane, stated she wants to understand how long the variance for the <br />dead-end culCde&ac would last. <br /> <br />Commissioner J4)hnson stated it would not be the Commission's action to connect the street, the <br />City Councillwohld have to take that action. <br /> ; <br /> <br />Ms. Thomas ista(kxl that safety is an issue in this area. If people are driving over 20 mph someone <br />is going to g{t killed. <br /> - <br /> <br />Chairperson ~Nixlt indicated Ms. Thomas has valid points. He asked that staff notify her if the <br />City Councilipl~s to take action on this cul-de-sac. <br /> <br />Commissioner JOhnson stated they agree with Ms. Thomas, but it would be best if she spoke <br />with the City[Co~ncil. <br />Chairperson ,Nixt~ indicated the best bet is to convince the City Council that the cul-de-sac is the <br />best way to Ilo. ~e stated the problem is there is only one access, and if there is an accident or <br />probtem theriis ~o altemate way in or out. <br />Taisal Diedri~h, ~[6911 Tiger Street asked if anything was done about the proposed entrance.
