ChairpersonlNiSt opened the public hearing at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />There was n~ ciiizen input. <br /> <br />Motion by 12 ~ai~Person Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Johnson to close the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carr~[ed.i: Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Shepherd, Van Scoy <br />and Watson. VOting No: Commissioner Brauer. Absent: Commissioner Reeve. <br /> <br />The public h~arigg was closed at 8:02 p.m. <br /> <br />Chairperson Ni~t stated he would like to make sure Staff thoroughly reviews the Tree <br />Preservationtpl~ and the landscape plan for providing a 25ofoot buffer strip. He indicated this is <br />exactly the t~pe qf development the Tree Preservation Ordinance is meant to cover. <br />Chairperson ,blixt commented there are some delineated wetlands noted and filled in. <br /> <br />City Engin~r J~ankowski advised they will need to comply with the Watershed District <br />requirementg.; <br /> <br />Brian Johns{in, .lflakanson & Anderson, stated they have applied to the Watershed District and <br />received app!ova~. He noted they are filling in less than 400 square feet. <br />Chairperson Nixi stated there seems to be several issues on curb and gutter, but not a significant <br />impact on th~ site~ plan. <br /> <br />City Enginee,ir Jarnkowski agreed. He indicated all of the issues have not yet been addressed, but <br />they will be., <br /> <br />Chairperson l~ix~ asked if there was any anticipated impact on the trees in Fox Knoll. <br /> <br />City Enginee.~ Ja4tkowski stated any impact would be to the trees along the south side of Alpine <br />Drive where ~t ge~s wet. He indicated most of them are not significant trees. There may be a few <br />small red oal~, that require tree replacement. He noted it is mostly wetland vegetation. <br /> <br />Chairperson f'/ixt stated the drainage pond is fairly significant in size. He asked if it was a <br />conduit for o~er '.ponds or just serving that section. <br /> <br />Mr. Johnson 3tatCd most of the site will drain toward that pond. He indicated it is a similar <br />elevation to e~ist~g, wetlands on the site. <br />Chairperson l~ixt iquestioned the sidewalk on the north side of a fairly deep pond. <br /> [ <br />Mr. Johnson ~ate~ the slopes are 4:1, 5:1; well within the guidelines. <br /> <br />Planning Commission/June 5, 2003 <br /> Page 7 of 23 <br /> <br /> <br />
