Case #2 <br /> <br /> City Special Revenue Fund #226 <br /> Landfill Abatement Fund <br /> By: Sandra Ashley Helling, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Background: <br />The Landf~ll; Abatement Fund was established in 1988 to separately identify <br />City revenues and expenditures for landfill abatement efforts. Revenue <br />sources i$cl~de interfund transfers, inter-governmental grants and donations. <br />SCORE funds provided through Anoka County and Landfill Tipping Fee interfund <br />transferslar~ the major sources of revenue. <br /> <br />During 19~8,' a Ramsey clean-up day was the City's major landfill abatement <br />effort. An E~vironmental Expo was added shortly thereafter, and in October, <br />1990, a oSty~wide curbside recycling program was implemented. A comprehensive <br />recyclin~ p$ogram is in place for all City facilities. It includes <br />collectio~ ~f paper, aluminum cans, oil and scrap metals for recycling° <br />Expenditures ~for these activites are disbursed through the Landfill Abatement <br />Fund. ~ <br /> <br />Attached= <br /> <br /> ~inancial Report for Fund 226 with year-to-date receipts and <br />Interim <br />disbursements through September 30, 1992. <br /> <br />ObservationS: <br /> <br />With the exception of the City-wide Curbside and Municipal Center Recycling <br />programs, ith~ major abatement efforts for 1992 are complete.
