were also concerned about the noise and their property value and felt this would bring down the <br />property value. <br />Ms. Lisa Peterson, 14401 Armstrong Boulevard, stated their taxes are already high and she is <br />worried about the resale of their property. She stated she sleeps during the day and weekend and <br />works at the hospital on rotating shifts. She stated another concern is with her children and the <br />peacefulness. She stated she was also concerned about the wildlife habitat that may be lost. She <br />was worried that the. noise may not be restricted to only the weekends or would there be noise on <br />Thursday and Friday. She stated she was concerned with the highway access to Diamonds <br />because it is already dangerous. She also wondered where the trailers and trucks will be stored <br />during the events. She stated she was opposed to this because of the noise, it is unsafe and she <br />wants to keep the serenity of the neighborhood. <br />Ms. Bree 'Plessel, 7913 142" d Avenue, thought Mr. Grueber has been unable to provide the <br />information requested and felt this should be denied based on that fact. <br />Ms. Sue Reynolds, 7028 127' Lane, stated they live east of Diamonds so whatever dust is blown <br />up comes straight at them and they will not like that or the noise. <br />Mr. Douglas Jones, 7030 137' Lane, agreed with the others in their negative views and was also <br />against this. He stated he was not against the other events because they will be less intrusive or <br />loud. He did not know how the one year trial would work with the investment Mr. Grueber will <br />be required to make. He requested this be denied. <br />Motion by Commissioner Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy, to close the public <br />hearing. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Van Scoy, Brauer, Cleveland, <br />Hunt, Levine, and Trites Rolle. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br />The public hearing closed at 8:16 p.m. <br />Commission Business <br />Chairperson Nixt called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at 8:16 <br />p.m. <br />Commissioner Brauer excused himself from the meeting at 8:16 p.m. <br />Ms. Kris Boden stated they have limited the events to eleven. She stated they have provided a <br />study to the City but they cannot get an accurate study done with out a trial event taking place. <br />She stated they want to continue to bring entertainment to the City.
