• Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #07-12- RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR THE CITY'S EFFORT TO SEEK TECHNICAL AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WITH RESEARCHING AND EVALUATING THE POTENTIAL OF A LAND CONSERVATION MEASURE WHEREAS, At the City Council Work Session on November 20, 2007, the City Council directed the Environmental Policy Board to continue to pursue a public opinion survey regarding the preservation and protection of open space and natural resources; and WHEREAS, At the City Council Work Session on November 20, 2007, the City Council directed the Environmental Policy Board to explore and pursue funding for a public opinion survey; and WHEREAS, The City has identified Embrace Open Space and The Trust for Public Land as sources for funding and technical assistance, respectively, for public opinion research on land conservation; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF .THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: • 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey recognizes the importance and need for stewardship of natural resources. 2) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey supports seelcing technical and financial assistance with and evaluating the potential of a land conservation measure through both Embrace Open Space and The Trust for Public Land. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember ,.and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 11th day of December, 2007. - Mayor • ATTEST: City Clerk -119-
