I I I I ! ! I I I I I I I I I I I From, M~ke !auspos Re, BookStore Inspection On t~lS!date, at approximately 1245 hrs. Dr. Rodman and I inspected Ithi~ Adult Bookstore at 6710 Hwy. #10. Upon our arrival there wer~ t~elve cars in the parking lot. As we walked into the store I o~se~ved nobody in the magazine/rubber goods sections and the cler~,~ R~ndy, was at the counter. I told him we were there to inspe¢~ a~d he nodded okay. We went back into the NE corner first and~ithgre observed that the lighting in the public area was turned uP ~oi~siderably. Three of the doorways were covered by plywood s~ a~ to render the openings unusable. Effectively this then crea~edi[double occupancy booths (or more) out of the six previous!~ e~isting booths. There were now three booths in this area. In iea~h of the entrance doors to the booths there had been drilled a~ons to one and one-half inch hole through the hollow core dOo~. i!The hole was about five feet six inches in height and cente~ed.i When we first came in all three booths there had the entr~cei[doors closed and we assumed they were in use. The door t° ~%~e ~ooth along the North wall had some sort of fabric stuffed ~tOithe hole, apparently from the inside, and my first impressiO~ w~s that it was a sock. I shined my flashlight into the holeS~in ithe other two doors and could not see inside other than to s~e ~ glow from a TV screen but I could not see any persons SinC~ it was still quite dark inside and the size of t'he hole did ~ot~Permit a broad view, especially since the door is about o~an4 one-half inches thick. Dr. Rodman also looked through ~e ~f the holes and told me he dould not see inside. ' I o~ild ~see that there had been a plywood partion, in one of the booth~. ~laced so as to effectively block the aperture known as "glory ih°~e'' from any penetration. Since however, the opening of the s~gl~ booth into a double booth now precludes the need for an aPertUre between and walls for purposes of sexual usage because o~ ~e room for two or more persons to occupy the booth, this only se~ves to close the aperture and not remove the attrac~i'o~ ~Or sex acts. The darkness of the booth still allows for the a~on~mity to exist. We t~en:inspected the other hallway running North/South and found ab°~t '~he same condition to exist as during the previous inspection;. 'iThat is, the apertures remain closed by the plywood facing wal!:l.:l The hallway is better lit than previously and there are holes ~u~ into the doors to serve as peepholes. Because the ~ s:~ill very dark inside however the effectiveness of booths are! the peep'ho~es~ is dubious. As We! l~ft that hallway I noticed that someone had left one of the pre~i~usly inspected booths in the NE corner. I looked ~ns~de and~ o~served two video screens and two chairs. I stepped inside an~ c~iosed the door. It was very dark inside and Dr. Rodman, Whb l[ooked in through the peephole could not see me standing ~i~ f~ront of the right hand side video screen. /4/
