go <br /> <br />Remote readers,shall be installed with each meter by the City at a <br />lOcation designated by the City. <br /> <br />The customer is prohibited from obstructing the meter so as to <br />interfere with the reading or repairing of the water meter or <br />remote reader. <br /> <br />The City shall insure that every customer is provided with a <br />minimum 5/8" water meter. An appropriate charge, reflective of <br />the size of meter, will be required for the use of the meter. This <br />'charge shall be established by City Council resolution. <br /> <br />Every water meter shall be sealed by the City at the time of <br />installation or repair. No person shall break or remove said seal. <br />Any broken seal or removed water meter shall be reported to the <br />City within 24 hours of such action. <br /> <br />If any meters are damaged by freezing, hot water, etc., either by <br />carelessness or neglect of the customer, said customer must pay <br />for the repair of such meters. The cost of ordinary maintenance <br />and repairs of all meters owned by the City shall be borne by the <br />City. <br /> <br />At the written request of any customer, the City will test, or cause <br />to be tested, the meter supplying the premises of the customer. If <br />.desired, the customer may be present at the time any such test is <br />made. The result of any such test shall be reported to the <br />customer in every case and if the meter registers in excess of ten <br />percent (10%) error, this test will be performed at no charge. <br /> <br />If the testing of a meter, as hereinabove provided, indicates that it <br />registers in excess often percent error, the charge to the customer <br />for water used during the quarter and previous quarter within <br />Which such test is made shall be equitably adjusted by the City on <br />the basis of the meter test results. Any other adjustment of <br />charges for water supplied through meters shall be made only by <br />the Council. <br /> <br />:Subd. 5. Water Connections <br /> <br />'a. The minimum size water service shall be one inch (1") copper. <br /> <br />The corporation cock inserted in the distributing pipe must be of <br />the size specified on the permit order. Every copper service pipe <br />must be laid sufficiently waving to allow not less than one (1) foot <br />of extra length in such manner as to prevent rupture by <br />settlement.
