<br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at 9:17 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt stated he understood why the recommendation was made and supported the <br />land use change. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Trites Rolle, to recommend the City <br />Council adopt the resolution approving the request and authorizing staff to submit the <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment to the Metropolitan Council based on the interim <br />comprehensive plan amendment criteria. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. V oting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Trites Rolle, Cleveland, Hunt, <br />Levine, and Van Scoy. Voting No: None. Absent: Brauer. <br /> <br />Case #3: <br /> <br />Request to Rezone Property from B-2 Business to Low Density Residential; <br />Case of City of Ramsey <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt closed the regular portion of the Planning Commission meeting at 9:19 p.m. in <br />order to call the public hearing to order. <br /> <br />Public Hearine: <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the public hearing to order at 9:19 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Associate Planner Geisler stated the Planning Commission will recall that back in 2006; Dan <br />Murphy and Tim Holm applied for a Zoning Amendment related to the plat of Ebony Woods. <br />On September 7, 2006 the Planning Commission reviewed the request to rezone the property <br />from B-2 Business to Planned Unit Development, and recommended denial. On October 9, 2007 <br />the City Council denied the zoning amendment request, and directed Staff to initiate a new <br />zoning amendment to change the property's zoning designation from B-2 Business to R-l <br />Residential. Staff recommends approval of the zoning amendment. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Levine, to close the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. V oting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Levine, Cleveland, Hunt, Trites <br />Rolle, and Van Scoy. Voting No: None.
