City. He stated that he would like to know what built up communities, such as Minneapolis,
have done.

Community Development Director Trudgeon stated thatthe 120 days will expire on Friday, so
the applicant will need to give permission for the Council to table action. He stated that he
would also like clarification from the City as to whether they would consider another location in
Alpine Park or just not this specific location.

Councilmember Olson stated that she would like to see other areas of Alpine Park considered
and would also like to know the challenges of the other areas within the park and other viable
options.

Civil Engineer II Linton stated that initially, T-Mobile had suggested a tower location off the
Southwest portion of the ball fields against the landfill fence, but staff felt a gravel road so close
to the fields would be disruptive and would also interrupt the natural vegetation in the area. He
stated that is why the current proposed location was considered because it is not in the middle of
Alpine Park.

Public Works Director Olson reiterated Community Development Director Trudgeon's question.
on whether the City Council will consider a different location within Alpine Park for the tower.
He stated that placement within the park is difficult without impacting the usage of the park
space.

Councilmember Strommen stated that she is not necessarily suggesting that the tower be moved
to a different location. She stated that she is just unsure whether the current zoning regulations
meet the City's needs given that they are fairly old. She stated that she feels this issue needs a
comprehensive review and will not be able to be resolved at tonight's meeting.

Mr. Edwards of _T-Mobile stated that he is willing to grant a 60-day extension to the City to
continue efforts of working with the City for an appropriate tower location. He stated that he
will get an official letter to the City as soon as possible granting this extension.

Motion by Councilmember Look, seconded by Councilmember Strommen, to table action on the
Request for a Conditional use Permit for a Telecommunications Tower in Alpine Park; Case of
T-Mobile USA, for 60 days to allow staff to continue to work with the applicant to find a
suitable tower location.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Look, Strommen, Dehen, Jeffrey,
and Olson. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Elvig

-267-
