Case #3:

Business Network Meeting

Mayor Gamec stated he attended a League of Minnesota Cities Regional Meeting where he met
with Mr. Matt Entenza, MN 20/20, who spoke on transportation and legislative issues. He
commented that Mr. Entenza indicated he would be very happy to do a presentation to the
businesses in Ramsey. Mayor Gamec stated he discussed the cost of transportation with
businesses in Anoka and Ramsey, particularly with delivery trucks sitting in traffic for extended
periods of time, and the impact it has on the businesses. He indicated this could be an
opportunity to involve surrounding communities in the Spring networking meeting.

Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan commented the EDA must consider that this evenJ
has been for Ramsey businesses. He explained that expanding the scope would include deciding
who to invite and he is not sure how to address that. He mentioned that Governor Palenty has
not responded to date; however, Mr. Charlie Weaver stated he is ready and willing to speak.

Mayor Gamec commented that Mr. Weaver would speak generally on the economic growth of
businesses.

Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan stated the feedback he received IS that
transportation is a hot topic for businesses.

Motion by Member Steffen, seconded by Member Strommen, to contact Mr. Entenza and book
him for March 2008.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Cllairperson Riley, Members Steffen, Strommen, Kiefer, and
Schindel. Voting No: None. Absent: Members Elvig and LeTourneau.

Mayor Gamec questioned why this event is not being held before March 2008.

Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan replied March is a good spacing between the
legislative session and Business Appreciation Day and that it gives sufficient time to set it up.

Chairperson Riley commented he has been asked about the Ramsey Town Center. He
questioned members on whether it would be a good time to provide a Town Center update at the
meeting in March. He stated he would like the City to formulate a five minute update/news
conference to address the issues and status of Ramsey Town Center.

ADJOURN

Motion by Member Steffen, seconded by Member Kiefer, to adjourn the meeting.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Riley, Members Steffen, Kiefer, and Strommen. Voting
No: None. Absent: Members Elvig, LeTourneau, and Schindel.

The regular meeting of the Economic Development Authority adjourned at 8:30 a.m.

Economic Development Authority / December 13, 2007
Page 4 of6

4
