<br />Commissioner Brauer thought that could be adequate at this time, but it would be their <br />responsibility to pay for the trail. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated another option would be to extend the trail up to Cottonwood <br />Park and the City pick up the costs of construction outside the plat. He stated they have done this <br />before in the past. <br /> <br />Mr. Mundt stated they could revise the plan showing an easement for future construction of a <br />trail. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hunt wondered if there is currently a berm there or would that be constructed <br />during development. <br /> <br />Mr. Mundt stated it is already there, and if they construct the trail, it changes the storm water <br />flow and creates flow coming down from Bunker to the property. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski reviewed how the water would flow to the pond area. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cleveland stated she did not mind the loading dock being where it is at but she <br />would not want to give up the trail and she would like it to remain where it is located and not <br />moved. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hunt stated he would prefer to have a trail constructed now instead of later <br />because of the possibility of having the land sold and having a fight with the new owner about <br />building a trail. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brauer wondered if the recommended approval contingent on the staff review <br />letter with the stipulation that staff and the developer work out the trail issue to mutual agreement <br />with a strong recommendation that the Commission wants a trail. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Brauer, seconded by Commissioner Hunt, to recommend that City <br />Council grant approval of the proposed site plan contingent upon compliance with City Staff <br />Review Letter dated November 30, 2007 with a strong recommendation that the Planning <br />Commission recommends the trail be constructed. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. V oting Yes: Vice Chairperson Levine, Commissioners Brauer, Hunt, <br />Cleveland, and Van Scoy. Voting No: None.
