Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by.~uncilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to recommend that City <br />Council au~l,..oriZe the expenditure of $185, to include the Bald Eagle exhibit, and $200 for postage <br />as request ~e~[by.ihe citizen's tree committee. The funding source for this total expenditure of $385 <br />is the Lan ,d?fll Tipping Fee Fund - restricted portion. <br /> <br />Motion carri~'ed. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: 1992 Clean-up Day <br /> <br />Project Matmger~Gromberg explained the charges for the Clean-up Day activities. He pointed out a <br />couple of ~t increases such as appliances and tires and explained that the City will get back a <br />dollar for e~h t~e instead of 50¢. He reported on different activities that will take place on Clean- <br />up Day such ,as brush chipping and abandoned vehicle pickup. He stated the permits will be issued <br />at the Envi~,onmental Expo and at City hall on Friday evening before Clean-up Day. Permits will <br />be sold at the Landfill. <br /> <br />Motion by COun~ilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to recommend that City <br />Council aufllorize a funding allocation in an amount not to exceed $8,897 for the 1992 Clean-up <br />Day. The !'tinding source for this expenditure would be the Landfill Tipping Fee - restricted <br />portion. <br /> <br />Motion canq~. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Hardin, Beyer and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Councilme~ber Peterson left for another meeting and Councilmember Hardin took over chairing <br />the Budget Cobmmittee meeting. <br /> <br />Case #3: <br /> <br />Authorization to Proceed with 1992 Parks Capital Improvements <br />Program <br /> <br />Parksfkltili~e.,S Coordinator Boos stated there is money in the Parks Improvement Trust Fund to <br />pay for the U. ent/~al Park parking lot paving project and also enable the purchase of bleachers and <br />players benches for two softball fields. <br /> <br />Councilmember Beyer stated she was opposed to doing any type of improvements when the City is <br />looking for Ways to cut expenditures, even if the funding will not have to come out of the General <br />Fund. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hardin suggested Mr. Boos draft a letter to send out to local, and some Anoka, <br />businesses t~at lists six to eight less expensive items the City would like for its parks, and possibly <br />solicit some. donations. He also suggested an article be placed in the Ramsey Resident regarding <br />same. <br /> <br />Finance Officer Helling stated that City Administrator Schroeder was in agreement with Mr. Boos' <br />requests as Ipng as the funding source is not the General Fund. She added the funding source Mr. <br />Boos is talking about is specifically set aside for parks. Mrs. Helling added that the public doesn't <br />necessarily a~derstand the differences in funding sources and if we proceed with the parks capital <br />improveme~t~ at ihe same time we are saying the Governor's proposed cut in LGA could impact <br /> <br />Budget Committee/March 19, 1992 <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
