She summarized some of the ways the CDBG funds have been used and <br />asked thi~t Co~3ncil start thinking about ideas for expending 1993-1994 funds. <br /> <br />Case #4: City Special Revenue Fund #233 DNR Grant Fund <br /> <br />FinanceiOfficer Helling stated that this fund is used to account for all revenues and <br />expendi~tres ]'or grants awarded to the City by the DNR. There have been three grants to <br />date: ~ommunity Tree Planting Grant, Federal Challenge Grant and the Oak Wilt <br />Suppres~ibn Grant. <br /> <br />Case #t~: City Special Revenue Fund //250 Future Sealcoating <br /> <br />Mrs. H~lling stated that prior to 1991, deposits for future sealcoating were carded in <br />several ~ffer~nt City funds. This fund was created to hold all sealc°ating deposits. <br /> <br />Case g~6: City Special Revenue Fund #251 and Enterprise Fund #603 <br /> Street Lighting <br /> <br />Finance3OffiCer Helling stated this fund was established to identify all deposits for street <br />lights. ~he Stated that Council adopted the Budget Committee's recommendation of a <br />residentfal bi~ing, rate of $8.25 per quarter for subdivision street lights. This item has been <br />added t6 ~he City s Schedule of Rates and Charges. <br /> <br />Case g7: City Special Revenue Fund #290 Charitable Gambling <br /> <br />Mrs. Hdlling stated that this fund was established as of March 1, 1992 to receive the 10% <br />of net ~ofita derived from lawful gambling in the City of Ramsey. She reported that <br />Cystic F~br°Sis and the Ramsey Lion's Club have been timely with reporting and <br />paymengs. R{ports for the Anoka Ice Arena have not been submitted on a timely basis, but <br />they ar6~riow~caught up. Mrs. Helling stated a forecast for 1993 revenue from charitable <br />gamblir~g, ba~ed on experience to date, would be in the range of $20,000 to $25,000. <br /> <br />Case gS: Municipal Center Roof Repair <br /> <br />FinanceiOffi0er Helling stated that $10,000 was set aside for roof repairs. The fire fighters <br />have re~Orted a roof leak and that the insulation is totally saturated. Therefore, something <br />must be~ don, before it freezes. She reported that Building Maintenance Worker Bray is <br />acquirir~g quotes. <br /> <br />Motion by COuncilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to authorize <br />the Citg Administrator to proceed with the repair of the fire station roof and identify the <br />1992 ftinding source(s) required if cost exceeds the building maintenance budget of <br />$10,000. <br /> <br />Further tliscUSsion: The Commission discussed considering repairing the entire roof if it <br />were d~medJ:necessary by the City Engineer and the City Administrator. <br /> <br />Budget Committee/October 27, 1992 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
