• State law no longer allows cities to issue this type of permit. Therefore, the current language in <br />SubSection 5.07.08 "License to Carry Weapons" has been deleted in its entirety. <br />In 2006, the City Council directed the Police Chief to review and issue permits for firearms <br />hunting contrary to City Code. Prior to that time, citizens would bring their request directly to <br />Council for a special permit. The City Code currently does not give authority to the Police Chief <br />to issue permits, however, with the adoption of this ordinance, the City Code language would be <br />amended to grant the Police Chief this authority. SubSection 5.07.08 has been re -titled "Permit <br />to Hunt". <br />SECTION 4.
