CASE #1 .

CONCEPT PLANNING FOR SUNFISH LAKE PARK
By: Mark ~verblood, Parks Supervisor

Background:

The purpose of this case is to apprise the Commission on the status of the concept planning
for the City owned land west of Sunfish Lake. In December of 2007, City Council
authorized retaining the services of Brauer & Associates to assist with the planning process.

Observations:

Attached to this case is the consultant's proposed contract and work plan, that appropriately
'parrots' the City's REP. This document will be approved after the first meeting between
staff and the consultant wherein any details or understandings are refined. An example of
which would be under "F Owners Responsibility", number #4, where "ecological design
services" needs tobe defined.

Also enclosed is the proposed project schedule. The schedule timeline is intended to reflect
the desire to involve the public as much as feasible, and accordingly, places the two 'Public
Hearings' in months before parents are involved in family vacations and youth athletic game
schedules. Recommendations or comments on the planning process are welcomed;. but not
required.

Commission Action:

No action required.

Reviewed by:.
Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer
Civil Engineer II

P &R: 02/14/08

1
