Motion by Commissioner Nelson and seconded by Commissioner Schroeder that the Economic Developme,t!Commission submit two names to be appointed to the City of Ramsey Business Hall of Fame for¢99~and 1991. These names would then be submitted to the Ramsey City Council at their meeting .of August 25, 1992. Motion car~'vd. The EDC i~plarming the City-sponsored Business EXPO. Commissioner Nelson was a highly effective chi~'~e~son for 1991 and it is recommended that she provide the EDC with some of her recommend!tt~ong for successful planning the 1992 Business EXPO. Commissio/i~ Nelson updated the EDC on some of the Business EXPO information from last year's plantiigg standpoint. She also informed the EDC that she is unable to perform as chairperson~this year because of a new position she has taken. She will, however, be willing to assist the cl~anpegson(s) w~th the 1992 Business EXPO. She also feels that this year s EXPO will be easier tofp!an due to the remaining records from 1991. Commissioner Nelson recommended that whoev~ spe~heads the EXPO needs to acquire a great deal of help from local businesses as they can make or,teak the success. Other suggestions are for more entertainment, to provide for a smoother trifle flow around and at the food booths, continue with the art exhibit and the Fire and Police Depat't~er/ts exhibits as they will bring in both families and residents. The EDC r~0mmended that the proposed chairpersons meet with Commissioner Nelson to obtain the information from the 1991 Business EXPO and schedule a planning session. Motion by Com~missioner Nelson and seconded by Commissioner Thorson to appoint both Commissioaers Kent and Schroeder to serve as co-chairpersons of the 1992 Business EXPO. Motion carde~.
