Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #08- 02 -XXX <br />RESOLUTION ADDING NEW PRECINCTS, REDRAWING PRECINCT BOUNDARIES <br />AND DESIGNATING NEW POLLING PLACES <br />WHEREAS, residential growth in the City has created the need for additional precincts; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the governing body of a municipality shall establish the boundaries of the <br />lection precincts and designate a polling place for each precinct; and <br />WHEREAS, the addition of precincts and the redrawing of precinct boundaries must be <br />adopted no later than May 31 in the year of the State Election. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the City be divided into eleven (11) voting precincts effective with the <br />September 9, 2008 State Primary Election. <br />2) That boundaries of the precincts are hereby established pursuant to Minnesota Statute <br />204B.16. <br />3) That the polling places of the precincts are herby established pursuant to Minnesota <br />Statute 204B.16. <br />4) That such boundaries and polling places shall be as follows: <br />Ward I — Precinct 1 — Polling Place — Pathways Community Church, 6341 -167 Avenue NW <br />Beginning at the intersection of Nowthen Boulevard NW (CSAH 5) and 167 Avenue NW; <br />thence southerly along Nowthen Boulevard NW (CSAH 5) to its intersection with Ramsey <br />Boulevard NW (CR 56); thence southwesterly along Ramsey Boulevard NW (CR 56) to its <br />intersection with Alpine Drive NW; thence easterly along Alpine Drive NW to its intersection <br />with Sunfish Lake Boulevard NW (CR 57); thence northeasterly along Sunfish Lake Boulevard <br />NW (CR 57) to its intersection with Nowthen Boulevard NW (CSAH 5); thence northwesterly <br />along Nowthen Boulevard NW (CSAH 5) to its intersection with 157 Lane NW; thence easterly <br />along 157 Lane NW to its intersection with Radium Street NW; thence northerly along Radium <br />Street NW to its intersection with 158 Avenue NW; thence westerly along 158 Avenue NW to <br />its intersection with Sodium Street NW; thence northerly along Sodium Street NW to its <br />intersection with 160 Lane NW: thence easterly along 160 Lane NW to its intersection with <br />St. Francis Boulevard NW (TH. 47); thence northwesterly along St. Francis Boulevard NW (TH <br />—134— <br />
