~ CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION Topic Report: 2008 Strategic Planning Session Wrap-up By: Heidi A. Nelson, Asst. City Administrator Background: Council and Department Heads met on February 1st and 2nd in an annual Strategic Planning Session. Staff has prepared a revised 2008-Five Year Goals document for Council consideration; the goals were revised/updated based upon the input from the session as well as the documents provided by the facilitator, ~arb Strandell. It should be noted that 2008 goals document contains the 2007 information as well as new 2008 information; once the Council review has been completed, staff will remove 2007 information that is indicated to be removed and provide a clean-2008 goals document for adoption. Staff has also included a draft vision statement for Council consideration; the existing vision statement for the City is included in the packet of materials for discussion. Following this work session, staff will prepare the five-year goals, 2008 Work Plan and Objectives, and minutes of the 2-day session for adoption at a regular meeting in March. In addition, Council will be asked to accept the reports provided by Barb Strandell for the seSSIOn.
