be used to pay invoices that are submitted from the developer for design and <br />implementation. <br />Motion to recommend to City Council to retain $30,000 and do additional research into the <br />polymer solution and bring it back at a later date. <br />Action: <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br />Case #3 Receive Results of Dirt Driveway Paving Survey <br />Background: <br />At the November 2007 Public Works Committee meeting staff was directed to survey the <br />degree of interest in paving dirt driveways through a mailing sent to properties with one or <br />more unpaved or partially paved driveways. Staff presented a summary of the results of <br />174 responses received from 455 survey mailings. Generally, 2/3 expressed a strong <br />disinterest in paving their driveways, while 15 percent expressed favorable comments. <br />Fifteen percent responded "in- between ". <br />Consensus of the Public Works Committee was that staff should pursue the policy of <br />providing driveway quotes at the public project meetings - and hopefully they would come <br />in at a preferred price. This would be done to encourage but not require property owners to <br />the pave their driveways. <br />Action: <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee <br />Case #4: Authorize Request for Proposals (RFP) for Engineering Services for <br />Water Tower #3 in Elmcrest Park <br />Background: <br />Engineering staff is looking for authorization to request an RFP for water tower Number <br />#3 in Elmcrest Park. Staff reported that storage needs of the City have been identified. <br />Staff is requesting approval to send out the RFP's. <br />Motion to recommend to the City Council to authorize an RFP for engineering services to <br />assist in the design and construction of Water Tower #3 in Elmcrest Park. ' <br />Action: <br />Motion to ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br />
