<br />Case #3: <br /> <br />Recommend Resolution Supporting the Anoka County Federal Recreation <br />Trail Grant Application for Construction of a Mountain Bicycling Trail at <br />Rum River Central Regional Park. <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverb100d stated Anoka County wants to apply for a $75,000 grant to apply <br />for a mountain bike trail because they are getting a lot of requests for this. He showed an aerial <br />view of the area where the trail would be planned to placed. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns stated she did not have any problem supporting this. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock asked if the City trail will connect to this one. <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverb100d stated they do not have an official trail in that area but the side of <br />the road is marked for bike travel. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shryock, seconded by Commissioner Erickson, to support the Anoka <br />County Trail Grant Application for construction in Rum River Central. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioners Shryock, Erickson, Backous, <br />and Hansen. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Barr and LaMere. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />Discuss Master Trail Plan Map Revisions <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverb100d explained new segments have been added to the Park and Trail <br />system since the map was last reviewed by the Commission. Staff will be providing draft maps <br />and leading a discussion of the changes. The Commission will be asked to review the maps and <br />provide comments by February 29. The comments will be included in the map and it will be <br />brought to the March meeting for approval. <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverb100d reviewed the revisions with the Commission. <br /> <br />COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Update on Alpine's Skate Park <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood stated things are progressing and they are working on examining a <br />water main extension that is slated to go through there. They are also in the process of refining <br />the bid specifications and will go to Council. <br /> <br />Update on Emerald Pond Park's Restroom <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverb100d stated City Council approved this and it came in right under budget. <br />Every contractor was a Ramsey business. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/February 14, 2008 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />
