CASE # I

INITATE SUNFISH LAKE PARK PLANNING - RESIDENT INPUT
By: Mark Riverblood, Parks Supervisor

Background:

The purpose of this case is to begin the concept planning for the City owned land west of
Sunfish Lake. Residents within 3000' feet of the future park space were sent the attached
letter inviting them to be a part of the planning process. In addition, the immediately
adjoining landowners were also sent a letter earlier, inviting them to meet with staff and the
City's consultant to share any initial concerns or ideas they may have relating to the park
planning.

Observations:

The City consultants for this project, Brauer and Associates, Ltd., are anticipated to present
their impressions of the park land and its opportunities and constraints to begin the 6:30 pm
request for resident input at March 13th,s meeting. Thereafter, the Commission may receive
comment on ideas for the park, and address any questions from residents.

Future public meetings will be held at which time staff and Brauer and Associates will
present design plan alternatives illustrating various combinations of recreation
improvements, based upon this public input. This next such meeting is anticipated to be at
the Commission's regular April meeting - with the subsequent opportunity at the May
meeting; being held at Sunfish Lake (weather permitting).

The primary purpose of this invitation for public participation is to receive any and all
comments, ideas or questions. Accordingly, no formal Commission action is anticipated.

Commission Action:

None required.

Reviewed by:
Public Works DirectorlPrincipal City Engineer

P&R: 03/13/08
