Absent: Commissioner Johnson Case #1: ~ R~ommend to City Council Appointment of Two Commissioners to ~ :Fffi Vacancies on the Park and Recreation Commission ParksFO'tilitlos C~ordinator stated that Commissioner Donald Lokker resigned this week from the Park and R~reat~on Commission. This creates two vacancies. Mr. Jim Go, kin mas present and was interviewed by the Commission. The Park a~. ReCreation Commission directed Mr. Boos to keep trying to make contact with the other appli~nts, !Todd Cook and John Niederhaus, to schedule interviews for the next Park and Recreation meetiog. Motion by ~0mmissioner Florentius and seconded by Commissioner Swokowski to appoint Mr. Gookin to ~ Pa~k and Recreation Commission vacancy for a term expiring on October 31, 1992. Motion ca'ed. ~oting Yes: Chairperson Hetland, Commissioners Florentius, Swokowski and Prall. Vofin~ N~ None. Absent: Commissioner Johnson. Motion by ~hair~erson Hetland and seconded by Commissioner Florentius to table the second appointmen~to th~ Park and Recreation Commission until the other two applicants can be available for intervie4rs. Case #2: ~ COmmunity Development Block Grant Funds for Park Improvements Parks/Utilities Cc~ordinator Boos informed the Park and Recreation Commission that City Council approved $~53~91~1.00 of the CDBG funds to be used for play equipment and disability sensitive play stmctu~ for Flintwood Hills Park. He stated that the area residents will be asked to attend the Park and Req?eatibn meeting scheduled for April 9, 1992 to give their comments and suggestions. Consensus ~ the ~Comnuss~on was to recommend that Staff invite all Fhntwood Hills residents to attend the April ~, 1992 Park and Recreation Commission meeting to comment on the proposed park improv~men¢. He stated P. program was approved to be funded by the expendable Parks Improvements Trust ded ~hat while the trust fund is different from the general fund, the spending will be iosely,.
